Hate to see you leave but I think we all get carried away from time to time. I know I do but it`s all good and the people here are GREAT! And this still ahs to be the best audio forum on the net bar none! Hope to see you back soon we`ll leep the vinyl spinning amd the lights on.

In a way I think I know what he's feeling, as I used to hang out on other forums.
One was for other people that had my type of car. I was getting depressed hearing about how people had tuned up their cars for better performance. After feeling like I couldn't measure up to the hot rodders, I quit hanging out on that forum. Yet, I still drive my car...

Actually, I've had somewhat "hotter and colder" periods within the time I've been in this hobby. Not cold enough to leave it, but there are times when, you might say, "the fever subsides" a bit. It also evolves over time; I've been shifting more and more towards quality, quality, quality, instead of quantity and more quantity. There are times when I'm on AK posting several times a day, and then there are times when I'm skipping a couple days at a time.
Too much of anything, even a good thing, isn't a very good thing.
Moderation in all things.
To every thing, there is a season...
and all that kind of trite stuff!
And in the end, vintage (or contemporary) audio simply isn't everyone's "cup of tea". So to anyone who wants to, I'd say take a break if and when you feel a need to ...there is more to life, and the audio door will always be open, to welcome your return. Hopefully there will always be an AK (at least within our lifetimes) and there will always be a few of us/them around, keeping the tubes warm, the vinyl spinning and the tweeters singing!

I come to the realization that since so many opinions are tossed around and little hard data backs them up, I am out of this hobby... I will still repair, collect and listen to my gear but Don't think I'll be participating in the forums anymore. Its been fun, and thank you all, but sayanara.

In my *opinion*, most of how things 'sound' is almost always opinion! If something sounds good to me, that's a fact! The same thing might sound terrible to you, that's also a fact!
To me, the key is to figure out who's opinions you value, and who's you can ignore. And also recognizing that everybody's ears are different.
I will say that I've learned a lot from people on this forum, even those who's opinions I may not agree with from time to time.
Wish you the best with enjoying your gear, and whatever you happen to enjoy listening to on it.

yeah i was about to buy a plane ticket just for this one time event .

Bethany & Lauriann & I were in the Ship's Radio Room one day, & I was telling them both what some of that stuff was worth & what they should do when I croak. "Rick Mish offered me $5K for this R-390A, this R-389 oughta go for $2500 anyway, the EK-07 oughta go for $2500 as well..." Bethany's eyes got real big, I could see the calculator in her head working, Lauriann just looked at her & grinned, "Fuggeddaboutit, little girl. As his wife, they go to ME before they go to you..." Besides, the REAL money is in the gun safe...Coin collection & about 125 guns...Both of 'em know the combination to the gun safe...
