Winter & Winter

:thmbsp:
Those Winter & Winter CD's are aesthetically beautiful. I have a solo cello recording by Ernst Reijseger on the W&W label, and it looks very similar to that Satie disc. It does have an odd tray inside though. It almost seems like it's some kind of laminated particle board.

Dino Saluzzi ~ Once Upon A Time - Far Away In The South (ECM, '86)

Technically, not the accordion, but rather, the bandoneon which is part of the concertina family. Ah well, there are tonal similarities. Hopefully you guys won't throw me out of this thread!

Indeed, the W&W releases are stunning, in performance and packaging. Every one I've seen has a foil-stamped, corrugated kraftpaper cover. Vey, very nice.

It makes sense that a Texas "Irish" band would have a Conjunto accordion player.

P.S. Brilliant album cover design, IMHO.

Well, last night's accordion playlist, actually. Some of the action on one of the three stages at Wurstfest in New Braunfels, Texas.

Besides vocals, Geno plays French, Triple-note and Piano accordions on this rockin' album. Feet won't keep still....

Being as he's Finnish, that sounds right.

I always enjoy the look of those, like black and white tiles.
