I had a pair of Beatle-esque boots in the 80's, when they were tres chic again thanks to bands like The Church and Spy vs Spy down here. They were a suede winklepicker chelsea style, very comfortable but didn't last long in those beer soaked pubs.

The "just cool kids" @ The Sixties had similar, but with higher heels; the "really cool kids" had the fully-fledged "boots" w/ the high Spanish heel & pointed toe. I recall that when I was much older, say ~16-17 years old, tryig on a "vintage" pair of the shoes -- approx. ankle high / lace-up style -- and hated how they felt just being on, much less tryin' to walk around in the effin' things. Of course some 2-3 years later I'd be wearing boots regularly, but boots w/ rounded (steel-reinforced) toes, lower (and straight, not sloped) heels, and a zipper up the side and laces up the front: Corcoran "jump boots" for Airborne special forces, U.S. Army. Of these I acquired and still have several pairs, ranging from manufacture circa 1950 (Korean Conflict) through the '60s & early '70s ('Nam era) to circa 1978 (my era). Some 40 years later these are still my "main" daily footwear. Treat 'em right 'n' they last forever.

Ah, @ last: the "puffy--pirate-sleeved" shirts ala Keef R. and countless '60s era "Psych" (and other genre) bands. These boys got them a penchant for lil' black vests, too.
 
I posted this band before but here's a cool interview.


OK now check this out. I hate it when people refer to garage as "punk". No way. They actually wanted to be the next Rolling Stones. That included musical chops and - key ingredient IMHO - vocal harmonies.
