I've got Habib Koite's double-CD, "Foly! Live Around The World." If you like Koite's music you may also like the Afrobeat music of Fela Kuti, a.k.a Fela Anikulapo Kuti, a.k.a. Fela Ransome-Kuti. His album "Fela and Africa '70 Live with Ginger Baker is a must have. Its difficult to find right now on CD but if you're into vinyl, I know of at least one used vinyl dealer that may have a mint or sealed original pressing.

I also recommend "Club Latino" by Atmospheres. I don't know why the CD title has Latino in the name because the tracks are all instrumental covers of popular hit Soca and Reggae songs. The songs are Caribbean in flavor but certainly not Latino.

PM Summer- In the country, north of Houston. Listened to a lot of good R&B at joints in Fort Worth. Lived in SF in the days of The Jazz Workshop and Both/And where I was a fixture. Been to music venues in most of the major cities.

WXPN 88.5FM Public Radio from the Univ of Pennsylvania. ECHOES. Nightly from 10:00pm to 12:00m CST (I think). Usually a lot of exotic ambient music but sometimes some very nice ethnic music.

If you're interested in music of Fela, Tower Records seems to be the only retailer right now that has any decent amount of his stuff available, including Live with Ginger Baker. His recordings, especially the more popular or hard-to-find titles go quickly when they become available. All of the other sources are indicating most titles as out of stock or not available. Fela died in 1997 and most of his studio master tapes which were housed at his home were destroyed in a fire. Recordings by his sons, Seun and Femi may also be worth checking out.
