"Top" meaning what? Top three ever produced ? Top three I've personally owned? Top three as in 'most expensive'? Top three as in highest powered? Top three in value for money ? Lotsa' ways to interpret your question.

Hmm tough call,

Really love Pioneer, but Fluro the most. So for me it's these 3:

1) Pioneer D7000
2) ReVox B780
3) Setton RS660 Base on wonderful looks :D

No particular order:

Concept 16.5 (Best build)
Luxman R-117 (Best sounding)
Marantz 2600 (Most impressive effort)

From what I have....

Pioneer SX-1250, Luxman R-117

Always looking for a Concept 16.5. But I have to say the Sony STR-GX10ES sounds Very Fine as to after the Recap.

Pioneer Elite SC-09.

Marantz 2600
Sansui G-33000

If you want a "monster" style receiver that also has superb sound quality, then track down a MCS 3125. No kidding. You owe it to yourself to give it a listen. Surprised the hell out of me.

I have a Lux R-117 and I love it. It is the best sounding too. I also like the Denon DRA-1035R, but the sound is a little different... very clean, but more analytical. The 117 is very smooth (not bright at all) and has excellent bass.

Just googled it, man it's fugly.

I started to convulse looking at the eq lines. No thanks.

I think the Marantz 2600 is probably king if not real close.

Now the Technics SA-1000 is more powerfu-330 watts vs. the 2600's 300 wattsl but not as well built or regarded..

May not be as powerful as some of these but. 1) the Onkyo Tx 8500 Mk2 is a well made beast. 2) Mac 1900.3)Yamaha c3020.
