TPA 3116 vs the tripaths

:yikes:
WTH this hokey puck is doing in the place of heatsink? LOL just joking
It does look nice, I can only assume they will not gonna sell this one under $35-40 USD?!
Interesting though as it seems they used the same (LQ) 10uH inductors already seen on many other boards, while from the other side they pay more attention to the look.
Anyway, I'll pass.

I would guess they would be priced in line with other 3116 boards.

Could anyone tell what the dimensions of the 2x15W Sure TPA3110 board are? They are not listed on their site.

I am building a case for my red board and want to keep the upgrading options open. I will be making spare front and back panels (hardly any extra work) to accomodate for different positions of connections and the potential absence of a volume pot.

They do sell but not on their website yet. I do not know the price yet. Here is a picture and a message they sent me after I asked if they had any plans producing a board with 3116 chip. Anybody care to comment how it is and what they do right or different than other 3116 boards on the market?

this board looks more versatile with the extra terminals for mute and such I would like to try one out or maybe 2 in pb mode ,funny looking heatsink I would think it would have some ventilation.

Why do you say you'll pass? Because of the hockey puck or the higher price you assume or something else? Thanks.

No :) I already have three of these 3116 boards, one moddified and in function, one that will even sit unused, and the best - green Audiobah's that still needs a house.
Not that I might change my mind later and order from Sure? Who knows :scratch2:

Sure 3116 round heatsink looks cool. Most 3116pcb's I have seen in use don't even have the supplied heatsink mounted, so cooling fan is something I doubt is needed much. Maybe in hot climate? (Inductors have solderingcontacts running till top, haven't noticed this on a tpa3116 amp befor)

@cleonjr, have you finished any of your projects so far?

I ask, because you insist so much on that PBTL configuration, while just one board produces more than enough powerful sound, for normal room though?

More I listen to my set-up with the YJ black + 6N3 buffer - more I'm confused - do I really need my other tube pre/amplifiers when this one sounds so good?! :scratch2:

The actual measured dimensions of my Sure TPA3110 2X15W 8 ohm board (new one) are:
3.6" X 2.7" (9.14cm X 6.86cm)

thanks, but assembled

oh you mean as an assembled product with the enclosure? I've made a similar enquiry with the seller and this was the response:

Q: Hi I'm interested in purchasing x2 boards in the PBTL mono mode, so that I can have x2 mono blocks for my pre-amp. Are you ever going to sell something in aluminium enclosures with an RCA input and a speaker binding post for each? Or are you able to make something like that for me? Cheers D

A: Hi, Thanks for your enquiry. Yes, I have the mono block metal case in my audio workshop but the size is little bit larger. And price is little expensive. I'm waiting the factory send me the mid size case for TPA mini-amp. Best Regards

yea I have several mocked up on boards, the 3116 have plenty of power I need some sub amps and I think the 3116 in mono should provide plenty of punch.or I might go with a PBTL 7498 for my sub amp duties.

on another note I am going to match a 3 tube pre with a analog pre got good results doing this with guitars analog>tub>31136 or maybe tube first but I am expecting some nice tones.
