Looking for 4 of a 2SB681 and 4 of a 2SB681. Anybody know of a substitute or where to buy some. They are Toshiba units from a Sanyo monster reciever. Thanks in advance, Jayman

Please clarify type numbers - 2SB681 is one = PNP

Whatever the other one is - I would use MJ21193 and MJ21194 (if the other one is an NPN)

That's what I was going to order, just wanted to be sure, so thank you kindly. How much power do you think a receiver that uses 4 of these per channel will make. It's a huge thing for sure, with dual power supplies.

Why did you say 4 of a 2SB681, and 4 of a 2SB681, when you could have said 8 of a 2SB681?

Could it be a JCX-2900 your working on? I repaired a big Sanyo (JCX-2900KR) last year that used these outputs.

Ha, thanks for catching that. 4 were supposed to read 2SD551. Hyperon figured it out.

That's the one, any tips on biasing and setting offset? I've heard that the service manual doesn't give numbers for these settings. There is also a small adjustment pot labelled CT? Thanks, Jay

The right channel had a pair of shorted transistors, so I figure change them all along with bad caps. The main filters are Elna and test good in every respect (at voltage). I may leave those for now.:scratch2:

I bet your right because the other pots are labeled bias.:yes: I guess I would just tweek the DC offset as low as I can get it right?

BTW, thanks guys for helping an old tuber to help his brother in law get a start in this hobby. He should be registering any day now, and he's a good dude. He has a couple pair of Paridigms, and I sold him Ray's original Bob speakers, but he needs mo power for the Paradigms that the little Sansui X1000 I gave him will proved.
