Tuner match for Kenwood KA-8100?

The Kenwood KT-7500 or KT-8300 is my suggestion. The 8300 sounds great, but sells for lots- $250 to $500 average, sometimes over over $500 to the occasional $600.

The 7500 sells for $75 to $150, and is a good tuner- I have one of these. With mods done, it becomes a world beater- one of the best tuners to modify, once so, it will put many other tuners to shame.

Hi Paul:

I think the KT-8300 might be too pricy -- I saw a few on ebay that were going to go for big dollars.

I think the KT-7500 will do nicely. Let the hunt begin!

How is the KA-8100 working out for you? That was one of my favorites, it will be missed. I never did play it loud, I had it in my bedroom setup, so it did light duty while I owned it, but I thought it had a very nice sound to it, warm and clean, about as nice as you could ask for. Let me know how you have it set up...

I've got the KT-7500 and just love it. I have it currently attached to the KA-5700.

After looking @ the mods that can be done to the 7500, and the payoff of doing them I can't wait to get started on mine. After the other thousand projects I need to do get done first.:smoke:

If you are going to use the 7500 then get you some matched filters from Bill Ammons and use all 280kHz or maybe one 230kHz and then you can use it in narrow mode where all the filters are in this tuner. It has 1 in the wide and 4 in the narrow and is best for dxing, but can be used by doing this for close stations.

Kenwood KA-8100, sound that is comming from this amp is beautiful, warm, clean, plenty of powerful bass. Price has gone to the moon lately
