Kenwood KA-3500 and KA-8100 A+B speaker setting. Series or parallel?

Are the speakers in series or parallel when a Kenwood KA-3500 integrated amplifier is set to A+B? How about for a KA-8100?

The Kenwood KA-3500 has the A+B speakers in series and the KA-8100 is parallel. An easy way to find out is to hook a pair of speakers up on either A or B terminals and select the A+B switch positioning. If there is no sound this should tell you that it's a series connection.
