Tung-Sol 7591's are being discontinued!

This week I was finally ready to upgrade the power tubes in my Fisher 500c, and I had my eyes on the Tung-Sol 7591a power tubes for a while. I contacted Jim McShane, and he told me that New Sensor is now out of these, and they won't be getting more! He said that much of the stock he has left bias a little hotter than he'd like, but that he has some cooler biasing tubes as well. He was going to send the "hot" tubes back to the distributor, and that's when they told him it's all they got.

I went ahead and grabbed a quad of these before they are gone completely, and I figured others may want to do the same. The "cooler" tubes he's charging a little more for in case some don't have adjustable bias. Limit is two quads per customer as well, so go get some!

Didn't think to look there. They're definitely still on the site, but when I googled it, I notice in the webpage title it says out of stock. Nothing about stock on the page, and it let me add to cart. Strange indeed, but doesn't look great.

EH7591's are still being made as far as I can tell. Rather them than the JJ's. Sent an email to N.S. When I get the reply I'll post it here.

I'm not sure how good this price is, but there are a ton available from eBay sellers

More like demand. People aren't buying these so they don't get produced. Better spend the resources on making El84/El34, which people actually want. And by people, I mean guitarists. The real tube market is there.

True, tho many of the later surviving home amps used 7591, so demand exists. Just not at the same level as the older tubes.
