Seems lots of folks have a bunch of starter or next level cartridges on all kinds of tables all over AK. That SC should make someone happy but not someone that knows and is bidding on this table.

Right. Likely it's been handed down to someone who went out to buy a cartridge fairly recently and that's all they could come up with.

I'd swoop down on that with a quickness if I was you ! That turntable automatically compensates for old out of round records plus the arm on that thing will make original recordings sound like virgin vinyl as long as you use a conical stylus.

A conical stylus rides up higher in the groove where most styluses miss completely giving you vinyl where no man has gone before...ei, virgin vinyl. Allot of people have multiple head shells for different types of vinyl. New vinyl is generally played with an elliptical stylus as the bottom of the groove is clean and unfettered. For original sixty year old vinyl the bottom of the groove has seen decades of use and you hear snap, crackle, pop so even if you have the best record cleaner in the world you can not get away from excess wear. I have an entire original Beatles record collect that I got through goodwill and the records looked really torn up but with a conical stylus they play brand new and I prefer them over the reissued versions. But, that's if collecting ancient vinyl is your thing and if it is, that Nakamichi would be great for any vinyl you collect. So you'll only need one turntable whereas so many members need two turntables.
