Actiually, I did hear a Kabuki speaker once that DID sound GOOD. It wasn't that thing, though. It had barely enough drivers to qualify as Kabuki (five-way, if I remember right), with a bullet horn tweeter on the top. It was a Sansui, IIRC, or maybe a TEAC(?), but the model number yielded had 2 or 3 Google hits all in Japanese; it was a Japan-market-only model. Way, way better sound than you'd ever guess, based on its looks.

Sometimes being a fan of Pioneer speakers can be embarrassing.

This is one of those times...

There must have still been at least one Kabuki Kamikaze designer left at Pioneer in the 80's.

Saw a pair of the same in a local Goodwill here around 2002. Walked away from them as they impress me as being much good, driver overkill!

Holy Cow, they sold for $350. I'd love to sell my Pioneer CS-63DX speakers for that. And I live fairly close to Lakeland.
