The Kabuki characteristics (IIRC) are lightweight cabinets and drivers, too many drivers, woofers too big for cabinets, and the sound is typically "all boom and sizzle". These heavy Pioneers meet some of the criteria but not all, which why at least some people think they sound pretty good, as opposed to being universally scorned.
