Unidentifiable Vintage Speakers

Did they make an 8 sided, 3'×4' cabinet? These things are huge. Mahogany...the grills don't pull off easily. Do you know how to get these off to look inside? I can't find any reference to Jensen speakers this huge....

These remind me of old Pioneers. CS-A31’s have the same grille cloth, and an adjustable pot like that on the rear.

Yes, the back panel has to be removed to access the speakers. The appears to be a variant of the 7800 cub. inch design provided by G.oodmans.

My guess is the OP is interested in possibly acquiring them, so suggesting he remove the back panel isn't going to help him at this point as he doesn't have them in his possession

With the Aru on the back it screams goodmans.I recently lucked out on a pair of speakers with the aru setup on the back and inside were a pair of 212c triaxials..the cabinets are small and home made but they sound great .i had to do a bit of reading up on the aru as i never heard of it before.Heres some pics of the speakers i got.

So true.Theres other factors that come into play as well such as being listed on fb market place etc and the person has just these old speakers they want to get rid of .If they dont know whats inside its a crapshoot but i will say the cabinets alone would cost a person over $200 to build.With that said sometimes if you ask a person too many queations it perks their intrest and if they do decide to open the speaker for you and see whsts inside then they know what they have and do the ebay search.Sometimes its best to just take a chance..With my gppdmans i was luckyenough the guy opened them up and didnt go that route.

The L-pad does look like Pioneer but the cabinet is no Lafayette cabinet.

It looks like a imperial somewaht but yeah jensen did make big speaker cabinets. not.Fwiw i myself have a single tp 200 listed in that book in a blond cabinet.
