I love the Barberettes cover of "Be My Baby"

ROFL! I liked it you've piqued my interest. I'm going to check them out.

As for my unpopular opinion:
Pink Floyd and anything they've ever recorded. At their best they sound to me like a very mediocre Jazz Quartet on a very slow Tuesday night. I've tried to give them a chance. I even went so far as to buy DSOTM. The amateurish playing doesn't help the overall boring sound.

When people cover a popular song and drag it out at like half speed grinds my gears.

I know there is a word for it but this new thing when singing the singers voice goes up and down real quick and people think its some amazing talent which I think sounds horrible and distracting from any talent they actually have.

The only reason the Beatles achieved their level of popularity wasn't due to their talent; rather, it was the leveraging of television and extreme marketing hype. It's so pathetic to read 60-70 year old guys pollute the Hoffman forums every time Paul farts.

That's because he just ripped off JJ Cale's style and ran with it. At leased
all the other artists that made tons of money off of Cale's songs changed it up. Not just trying to copy them.

Seeing as this is the General audio section and @onwardjames has been around long enough to know I'm positive he's talking about music related opinions. So as long as you stay in or around that lane you should be fine.

My concern is some jabroni is going to come along an ruin this thread with non music related nonsense.

Yeah, music is the theme, but honestly, I don't mind anything that isn't against the rules. What I'm really looking for isn't blanket "I don't like this" statements, but rather an unpopular opinion that is defended in an intelligent, thought-provoking way.

Two things:

This ten year old Bose speaker we use in the lanai sounds pretty good.

I think Stevie Ray Vaughan's music is boring. Sure, he's got technical chops, but to me it's soulless noodling, and doesn't move me at all.

I think Eric Clapton stole everything from better artists, while adding nothing creatively.

And yeah, don't get me started on Phish. This is coming from someone who went to the same college they did, surrounded by phish-heads.

I totally agree with the Clapton and Phish part.

Bob Dylan made that much crap music, he had to get a few right. Soooo overrated.

I was given a Dylan box set along with a few other Dylan CD's. Only one is even remotely listenable. Just a other showman with a gimmick.

For me, the surfeit of movies with indestructible heroes fighting other indestructible "bad guys" is tired, predictable, and lazy of Hollyweird.

Where's the "On the Waterfront" or A Touch of Evil" level movies, with superb writing, character development, and style?
