Use subwoofer lfe or crossover?

I recently got an svs pb1000 and am working with an onkyo tx-ds575x which has a sub pre out.
I listen to music, mainly vinyl and the system is rarely used for tv/movies.
I have two klipsch ksf 8.5 towers and I have set the receiver to recognize them as small.

I am wondering wether it’s better to set the cross over manually on the sub or rely on the lfe? I’m new to setting this up correctly so any input would be helpful!

Yes, manual onkyo online,
Doesn’t say much as far as recommendation it’s fairly bare, just how to hook up the speaker itself.
Svs doesn’t have much in the manual, it was a quick set up piece of paper and can’t find much after lots of research so that’s why I posted here.

I have the same Onkyo AVR sitting on my work bench. Used it for nearly 20 years. These are solid performers for both music and video.

By setting the speaker size to small, The AVR will send 120 hz and lower to the sub. By setting it to large 80 hz, Which I recommend for most tower speakers using the AVRs sub output.

Turn the subs x-over off. It is best used when driving the sub with speaker outputs and backed off enough so you don't double down the bass with your towers.

Many subs have speaker inputs and outputs. Most do not include a high pass filter, so the main speakers still operate full range. Your one of the lucky ones. It looks like you're sub has an 80 hz high pass filter.

You can select no sub and use the speaker level inputs on the SVS, adjust crossover and volume on sub as needed.

The Onkyo owner's manual is almost useless.
