Disclaimer: I haven’t tried this. Applying nothing is fine, and certainly the safest choice.Oh well, brand new bottle of Aquaplas and Toluene waiting in the basement... but it's now deleterious? Fortunately, not applied yet! I guess that I am better applying nothing on my two sets of KLH's 17?
What I suspect might be worth a shot if you absolutely cannot get Roy’s compound, would be to lightly *dab*—not wipe—a small amount of toluene on the surrounds in order to possibly soften/re-wet what is there. Again, emphasis on light, you wouldn’t want to remove anything. I theorize that this could close up some pores in the old compound and regain a bit of bass response.
