Using MA5300 integrated amp as preamp

No reason why you couldn't, though personally if I were to use a separate power amp I'd want to pair it with a standalone preamp. As you know, the preamp in an integrated unit like the MA5300 is compromised to accommodate a power amp in the same box. If I were you I'd look into swapping out your MA5300 for a C47 down the line.

Thank you. Why C47 as opposed to one of the other McIntosh pre-amps?
