Energy 'Three'. And with the red 'shadow ribbed' tweeter vs the black as on the Energy 'One' I have. I've seen mention of the red tweeter perhaps being earliest production. Those tweeters share much with the Pro 22 tweeters ... same faceplate and probably same square magnet like my pair. Re-foamed ... too bad the dude used the wrong foams!

just sold my IMF als 40ii speakers today local Vancouver craigs...They were pretty much mint and recapped with the mids refoamed in the last few yrs...
was hard to let them go.

and if anyone local gets these I want to listen to them, the crossovers alone often sell for more than the price.. together with altec 604e drivers, the cabs and 15 inchs are a bonus

the only down size is the 250lbs plus for each speaker

yes the altecs are tasty ,dont know anything about the other drivers in there .
I'm thinkin they've over priced that stuff in this current market

I seen the ad when it first came out Totem...and knowing the Altec 604 and other vintage co-axials well they are high on my want list.Unfortunately our vintage stereo market is somewhat depressed compared to 10 yrs ago.
Id be a buyer around a grand.My Tru-sonic are very comparible in both rarity and hi end sound on tube eq. for much more reasonable coin.

I seen the ad when it first came out Totem...and knowing the Altec 604 and other vintage co-axials well they are high on my want list.Unfortunately our vintage stereo market is somewhat depressed compared to 10 yrs ago.
Id be a buyer around a grand.My Tru-sonic are very comparible in both rarity and hi end sound on tube eq. for much more reasonable coin.

The crossovers alone worth damn near the aaking price... the speakers are a bonus

I don't get too excited by "cross-overs 'bert,I know they add value especially the originals when purchaseing vintage JBL/altec/Stephens ect systems but really there just coils and capacitors easily replaced with off the shelf components that can get the job done and in most cases can be custom made to exceed the sonics of the originals.
The moneys in the drivers.I run 2 separate late 50's Stephens Tru-sonic systems and altho still have the original x-over box's/internals I run custom x-overs myself.

Good point hunter, they are just "better" grade crossovers than the "average", the coils are copper strip vs the more typical wound wire, and the capacitors are of the variety that solen.ca ask an arm, leg and first born in exchange for. In the sum, I see they are liquidating their whole studio, and it doesn't appear to be jumping off the CL pages at their current pricing.

As much as id love the Altec drivers my Stephens present the same level of Audio reproduction.Not much difference when you get into the totl co-axials/tri-axials there ALL dam good!!

anyone want a pair of bose 301 version 1 in walnut with metal stands for 50$ pair on local site (not CL) Pretty much in need of a fair bit of work. This is NOT a BOSE endorsement either... just saw them and thought someone might like a project.

Yesterday at the Burquitlam Value Village was a pair of RS Nova 7B speakers. Heavy cabinets in not to bad of shape that should clean up easily enough. Wooden grills looked in great shape to but didnt want to force them off to see the drivers in case I damage 'em.
25 bucks for the pair I think.
If I didn't have so many speakers already I would have taken them to check out.
They're hidden under the shelving in the back left corner of the store beside this little Sanyo all in one setup in stand across from the plastic bags of cords and such.

I was trying to find find the model number of those polk speakers but then I came upon this listing. I guess they are being flipped from $80 to $200.

The cabinets are made from rosewood.

My Nova 7B's don't have wooden grills but plastic Lattice style and they are held on by small screws in each corner
