Old thread! I just found one of these as well. It has a nice look to it.
Ballsy amp section, cheap feel to parts as I recall. Kind of a "poor man's" h/k. Sold them in my younger days. Street retail was about $50 less than the 330 h/k at the time.
Don't recall any issues with them. Not as smooth as the h/ks were, but sold a ton with CV speakers

I have a VR-4500 around here somewhere. 44 watts x 2. I remember reading that these were made in the same factory that assembled NAD products and that they share some parts. Certainly acceptable quality and a unique look for that time. The 4500 doesn't quite have the bass punch of a comparable HK 730 but that unit punches way above its ratings! And heck, all the lights are still functioning on the VR and the pots aren't even that bad yet-aren't screaming for a DeOxit wash, that is!

I have a VR-2500, which I like quite well for its intended purpose: listening to mp3s, FM radio, and the very occational LP. I have it paired with some really small Pinnacle speakers (PN2+, which are pretty efficient at 86db).
Overall, the 2500 is great for casual listening, and, thus, it has been set up in my office. I think it is 25 watts - perfect for a small room where you don't want to rock the professional/dorm neighbors next door.
And speaking of dorm room, it is about to be "recomponentized" for my daughter before she's off to college next fall for all the reasons above.
The other thing I have liked about the VectorResearch is it has required no maintence to date (I've had it for exactly 3 years now and it is used for something like 15 hours per week), which is a lot more than I can say for several of my other peices of vintage audio equipment.
I do want to stress again, if you are looking for an intergrated amp for "active listening," this is not the integrated for you. However, if you are looking for an integrated to play music at a very reasonable volume while you do other things, like talk to friends, fix your car, throw pottery, etc., this little guy will probably fit the bill.
