Nice to see NIB pieces, but those prices are a bit exorbitant if you ask me. 1950 bucks for a TA-F3a Sony which really isn't all that special and probably sold for like 200 new, that's pushing it if you ask me.

Good point... And if you don't take them out of the box and use them then why have them? It wouldn't be very satisfying looking at or listining to a box.

Besides, the chances of these pieces blowing up when turned on, is real if you ask me. The caps in these things must've deteriorated from never being used, so destroying your NIB unit when switching it on for the first time, seems likely. At least that's what I think. Any more technical background on this ?

I agree once opened and turned on it is just another Marantz 1060 Pristine yes but not worth that kinda money IMHO. I agree it might self destruct on initial powering up. a variac is definitely in order here!
