Vinyl revenue made up 62% of all physical music revenue this year so far, according to the RIAA
IDK... physical music means just CD's, cassetes (we might as well take playing birthday cards into account with that) and records, I'm not sure if it means we buy more vinyl. It could just mean records are over priced.

It has been lovely because all the pop music I was growing up with in late 90s and early 00s are now being released on vinyl for the 20 or 25 anniversity and Im reliving my childhood memories <3

With your logic its even more impressive, vinyls old sold everything :dunno:. Adjusted for inflation the price I pay for new vinyls is the same as it has always been.

I'm sure these numbers are for sales of new and reissued albums. If they could add in the used vinyl market it would be much larger.

For the first half of 2020, CD unit sales were down significantly vs same period in 2019, but still exceeded vinyl unit sales.

For the same period, vinyl revenues grew faster than vinyl unit sales; in other words, vinyl prices went up.

Vinyl revenues as a percentage of total music revenues were slightly down (4% vs 4.2%).
