Virtual Device of Noise Reduction Systems

I could not find a good demo video, but now I am looking for options that I can buy... thank you for the advice.
It will perform similarly to the DNR System 911 that is demonstrated in the video linked on the first page of this thread.
 
No Information is available about NR applied or not.
They are generally slow speed (7.5 ips or 3.75 ips)
1/4 track and each one recorded as mono track.

So what should be done in case of this situation?

No noise reduction. 4 mono tracks. Slow 3 3/4 IPS speed mainly. Reality. Will have hiss. Will have tape hiss. Because the owner recorded these from AM Radio. Mono Records, or it's old time radio programs (all reasons why tapes get recorded this way). So light noise reduction in your digital audio workstation software can be done. But don't expect this type of recording to be a miracle in high fidelity.

They are recorded from the mic. I found a couple of software that does the job. I am digging into it to find any better alternatives. The problem with we'll know daw software is phase manipulation. I guess the best way using noise gates. Also, I will give a try vwestlife suggest.
 
How about a little dynamic range expansion? I used my old dbx 3BX expander to do just that years ago. I was just playing back old cassettes recorded with no NR but with lots of hiss, and this unit helped a bit. I know some software packages will do the same. I believe the old version of Audacity did this, but it's been so many years ago that I can't recall exactly.

I don't understand. Can you clarify?

You will see a description like:
Noise Reduction

Controls the percentage of noise reduction in the output signal. Fine-tune this setting while previewing audio to achieve maximum noise reduction with minimum artifacts. (Excessively high noise reduction levels can sometimes cause audio to sound flanged or out-of-phase.)

It means when you increase the effect of NR or do multiple times of NR, the sound will be corrupted.. But if you work with the gates mostly, you will not have this kind of effect on the sound until you do not make a massive mistake by deleting part of the sound intentionally.
 
Thanks for the link. Yes, different types of noise reduction will have different artefacts. If you have that software I suggest you play about with it enough to learn how to get the best out of it. Just beware that despite all the bold claims there's no silver bullet.

I am working on it, I might found golden bullet :)

I could not find any of the devices on eBay that selling in Europe. Getting from the USA coast around 60 USD for shipping:eek2:.
 
My firm prediction is that a golden bullet won't be found, either...

I do intend to have a chat with my mathematical signal processing colleagues about my mad idea, though...

I may suggest you check it out with your colleagues Brusfri and Clarity vx pro that might expand your view. The result with this two plugin near to what I expect.

But they will be able to advise on the theoretical feasibility of noise reduction. We are not audio technicians; we are electronic design engineers, mathematicians and mathematical physicists, designing and implementing sensor systems using mathematical signal processing.

I assumed your 'golden bullet' to mean perfect noise removal; as I explained above, that is not possible.

Good to know. It does the best job for me, which I do interest only with noise reduction. I hope you find your answers.
