VPI HW-19 MK3 hinge help!!

Does anyone have a lead on where to get replacement hinges? Mine are worn and will not hold the cover up. Love the table!!

As I'm sure you know, these have been MIA for probably 10 or more years from VPI. Mine, on my VPI are still strong from 1996, but maybe your table has gone through more use than mine over the years.

Still, I might not hesitate to call VPI, who knows, maybe they don't have the hinges on hand, but someone found a pair of NOS Hinge Springs laying in a back room.

Sure there's no binding, and are dry? That a little dose of mineral-gun oil with a Q-Tip on the springs and hinge pins might help? Then wipe away any excess.

Otherwise, keep the eyes peeled on places like the bay and such.

I have been in touch with VPI and they are going to try and find some buried in the back of the warehouse the next time someone heads that way. I am hopeful but fully expect them not to find any. I have search notifications on eBay and hopeful some show up but like you said 10 plus years since they were available from VPI.

I may just try and find something close and go with those. In the end, if all I can come up with is the covers that cover the whole table I will go that route.

They might surprise you, and my advice is continue to follow up religiously with those folks. I know all too well that they are not easy to stay in contact with. Harry's the guy if you can get him. Matt and Mike over the years have been helpful too though.
