Sorry if this is a stupid question, but...
What's with the 3 wires on the Zenith Wavemagnet antenna?
Just for fun, I'd like to use one as an AM antenna for one of my receivers, but 3 wires?!?

It's only two wires -- i.e., a loop antenna -- but a three-pin plug.

Unless you're talking about one of the transistor models, which have separate loops for longwave and broadcast band.

It depends on the radio the WaveMagnet goes with. If it's the older style as used with the tube-type TransOceanics, then it's indeed just a two-wire loop. If it's the smaller kind which goes with the transistor-type TransOceanics, there may be an extra wire in use, though I don't know its value off-hand.

I had a 30s console with a big cardboard box in back mounted on a rotating mount so you could aim it. Said Wavemagnet on the side. So there are all kinds of Wavemagnets.

Very possible it has multiple leads for different windings - for SW and AM for example.
