We need a new Reel to Reel Tape Recorder manufactured.

That is precisely why no new tape decks are going to be built. This Horch deck will not qualify as a consumer deck until I can buy it on Amazon.
The Great Pumpkin will make an appearance first.

Very high cost has never stopped the high-end vinyl enthusiasts ($25K+ turntables, $5K+ cartridges, $20K+ phono amps, etc.), so why would it stop the "slightly crazed" tape enthusiasts? Why would availability on Amazon mean anything? Calling it a consumer deck just means it will be a compact, 1/4", 2-track deck that one could put on their home hi-fi rack. They were just indicating that it's not some giant console intended for use in a professional studio.

Big problem for these ideas and a topic that arises with the likes of Teac/Revox/Studer......If something goes wrong with this new deck and still under warranty, who the hell is going to fix it?? These previous deck mfg have no service dept anymore that specialize in big gigantic pcs of gear and 3rd party repair shops don't exist and would charge a fortune back to Teac/Revox/Studer for warranty work.

So that is why these new ideas come with a $10,000-$15,000 price tag........A horrible marketing plan that no financial source would approve.
