Weekly Estate and Garage sale finds (pics)

I arrived shortly before closing on the second day of an estate sale. The price was $50, I offered $40 which they accepted.

I'm sure the only reason it was still for sale is because it only had the model number which isn't unusual for Series 20 gear. It works perfect and sounds wonderful. It was missing one knob. I went through a stash I have and found a similar style, since it's not an exact match I used it on the power switch.

You scored alright ! :smoke:

Since we're talking about scores

Got this from China Town in L.A. for $5.

Here's what I found at an Estate Sale this week. First day $1295.00, Second day $950.00. Sold for $700.00. I wanted it, but couldn't justify spending that much.

^^ CRAZY high PRICE ! Thats not estate sale pricing !

I assume your talking about the Garrard 301. That's the way some of my local estate sales are. They look up items and see what they sell for on ebay. Then they ask 1/2 to almost all of that to start with. They will eventually sell the item for less. Other estate sales have darn near garage sale prices.

Not many estate or garage sales this weekend.
Managed to find these 2 items at 1 estate sale for $5.

Uh, check out the Sold prices on eBay.
At the original $1250 that was a steal with the tonearm and cart.

If the poster truly wanted a 301, he'd be hard pressed to find a better deal than what he passed on.....

Combo garrard with scott amp in 1

I hope to have fun testing and restoring it for my first restoration project. It looks useful enough with a guitar input. The TT looks in good shape. For $10, i can't go too far wrong.

Anyone know anything about it?

2 estate sales, 2 nice finds.

Friday I went to an estate sale and found a pair of Realistic Nova 8B's for $20. They are truly a 9+/10.

Then this morning, I went to another one and I bought a Heathkit Oscilloscope with the manual, and a HK v/ohm meter and a ASI vac-u-tronic tester and a utility tester. Grand total of $11 for all.

The scope fires up and the seems to work. The V/O is untested because I don't have a 1/4" set of probes, and the other 2, I don't even know what they do, so I cant really test them. That ring of goop on top of the V/O came off with a little lighter fluid. :thmbsp:

Went to 3 estate sales today, got there a bit late but still managed to find some goodies.

Here's a vintage 1981 Technics SA-203 Receiver. Paid $8. Works perfect.
It was a but dirty but cleaned up nicely.
Excellent quality and rare. Nicest tuner Ive seen !
30 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms
1981 MSRP was $230.

No, probably tired and punchy. But I still think this whole thread is amusing. The numerous, extra large pictures of cassette tapes from every angle and close-ups of toy trucks right-side up and upside down, or empty battery compartments of boom boxes and such...
