What work are you needing to have done?
This answer could lead to some helpful, quailified aker to step up and give you a hand. I’d guess that cruising to tunes, drinking beer might not be the proper payment these days but a few gallons of gas might be.
Good points!!! I was a WT dealer (long time ago) and I have a square motor WT Classic. I've rebuilt the rather unique spindle bearing (non-bearing) assembly, installed different motors, re-strung tonearm suspension, etc. I may be able to talk Stingray 53 through a process or two??? It is a fairly easy TT to work on - despite what it "looks like".
As do I! Got it in '89 and it still works well thirty-seven years later. I upgraded to a black platter and then newer black (not reference) arm. New motor back around 2005. A few years ago a mouse chewed the wire going from tonearm to terminal block so instead of rewiring that black arm I replaced it with a stainless steel original. The three planks of the plinth began to drift out of alignment, so I applied gentle pressure to them with woodworking clamps, straightened them, and now they have drifted back out of alignment, so at this point I just leave 'em as-is and enjoy listening to music. What a great and unconventional design this is. Love it.
