West Lake BBSM-6 Studio Monitor Restoration w/pics

This driver is included in the WinISD library. Ideally, you would use 375.9 liters tuned to 28.4 Hz.

To put that in perspective- that's about a 2 foot by 2 foot by 4 foot, external dimensions, made from standard 3/4" wood, enclosure for each woofer. Once you install a viable port (itself pretty huge) and bracing, that's going to wind up in the 12-point-something cubic foot range.

Regards,
Gordon.

i remember reading somewhere, either older Westlake literature, or one of Glen's white papers, that the inductor(hand wound by Zen) for the BBSM-SWP passive network weighs 55lbs.
He drives them with a Bryson amp.
After trying several amplifiers on them, i settled on Krell FPB 300.

There are some great Westlake factory tour pics on LHF from a couple decades ago.

The crossovers are something else, too. Couldn't find the pictures earlier. This is the entire back panel of the speaker cabinet. Every component is marked with the exact measured value.

You need to have your thinking cap on to map those out ! Very nice to see each component value labeled makes it much easier to repair down the road.

The back board crossovers that edgewound posted on LH are insane I counted like 44 caps and 32 inductors I am sure i missed a couple but my goodness ! I would need a whole bottle of excedrin to work on those BBSM 15 monsters !
