Western Electric 34b & 34c ?

Found two of these recently in a box.
Some parts inside are clearly marked Western Electric.
One is labeled 34b, the other 34c.
Any idea on what they are and if they have any value?

They're socketed resistors and diodes (?). The closest I could google to them is below. Not sure of the value, I would guess $10 or $15 for the pair.

These appear to be plug-in filters of some sort. Note the two rectangular adjustable coil housings.

I don't see any such thing. Look again.

Where? What are you two seeing that I'm not? I see two extruded screw blocks that the cage screws would be screwed into. The only other 'screw' screw I see is the bolt that runs up the center shaft that hold the 60 ohm resistor in place.

The large resistor inside is a fixed value. I opened one it was 60 ohms with 2 Western Electric Diodes. No adjustments inside. The screws just hold the cage onto the base.

They're plug-in replacements for a Western Electric 422A dual rectifier tube. 422A's have been seen selling for as much as $700.
Those screw blocks threw me off.
