Mine was a basket case as well. A very busy actual DJ used it lol. I put a new deck plate on it, New feet, Kevin At KAB tone arm rewire kit, The fluid damper, Internal ground, A used platter that I detailed, A used dust cover I salvaged. Then Lou built the plinth. That’s about a $500 MK II lolMy SL1200 mkII has been an amazing table! It still works after about 40 years of zero maintenance (it cost me about $5.00 from the recycle store at the local dump)!!! All the bulbs except the pitch fader have gone out, and the start/stop button sticks, so it needs a full maintenance.. but yeah, she still works!!! Awesome table!
As you said it’s maintenance free except for a couple drops of oil every quarter

The cool thing was mine was in perfect shape when I got it! The dust cover was missing, so I repurposed one from a cheap Sherwood table and just place it over the Technics! What a score! I also bought at around the same time from the same dump an SL1500 full manual- also in excellent condition! Even the dust cover was excellent! Scored there too...

Very cool. The Sherwood cover must be pretty tall too fit. Sometimes I wish I had a semi auto to be honest. Especially as I’ve gotten older.
