So if the switch doesn't clean it up do you have to scope the signal path to see were the noise starts ?
all new caps. clean switch. it still pops.

it only pops when there is signal going thru it. if there is no signal, there is no pop. that means it is not dc getting on the switch.

i think it's a design flaw and there is nothing that i can do about it. if it was dc causing it, i could solder a 1meg ohm resistor across a switch contact so dc can't build up.

my understanding is that the popping is from a phase difference on "each side" of the switch and how the tone controls are bypassed.

it's not obnoxious. it's easy to remedy. just don't flip the bypass switch while music is playing. kind of a bummer though. i did want it to be perfect. :(
