What are you Listening To Right Now? - and more

I must admit, I don't usually analyze music at all- it's all about how does it affect me- does it have an emotional impact on me? How is the sound quality? This is very important to me- sound must be primo! I guess this the audiophile in me listening... mic placements are critical, dynamic range etc...
I personally get moved by this stuff, and that's all I need... I just listen... :)
Absolutely!
I remember Eddie Van Halen saying in an interview a long time ago that if it sounds good, it is good.

Personally, l like the human element...warts and all.

Today was one of those days....I had to let one of my students go. My job is not to just teach them, but to also evaluate their ability to do the job. He was not going to cut it. He is a good guy, but didn't have the aptitude to handle the position. I didn't sleep well last night knowing I had to take care of it today.

Came home to this.....that damn non profit web site. Will reveal in a bit....think it may be something for SOCAL guys in there!20261015_184425.jpg

Happy Thursday evening :bye: . I'm home now. Had my dentist appointment, no cavities except for a small filling that fell out. I purchased a small pot of pink orchids ( late wife's favorite color) and then visited her resting place. I gave her the flowers, talked to her for about 15 minutes and left. I talk to her everyday anyway so I didnt have much to say.

Listening to some old prog rock from 1969.....

Hopefully talking to her brings you some piece, don't get me going on the dentist .

That's rough Chief, but it's part of the deal when one manages the work of others in some form or fashion.

Remember you have a purpose there, and there are minimum standards, possibly for security reasons or ability to do a job, possibly for safety reasons... these are absolutes, and you are the the judge, jury, and executioner... it's a part of the job, and today you had to be the executioner... just remember your decision is for the greater good... :)

The worst day of my working life was when I had to fire an employee.
They legitimately had no justification to be employed with the company, so they didn't have a leg to stand on.
That said, it didn't make doing the deed any easier.

I feel for ya brother...

Thank you all....it wasn't something I enjoy doing....but my job is to handle this stuff with students...so be it.

On to cooler stuff....Any SOCAL guys here?? @bobabode ???? I saw these on the non profit....I am a sucker for "local" radio station releases. I have a bunch from WFIL out of Philly.
KGB a station in San Diego used to release albums that raised funds for United Way. Well I found 4 of them and took a chance. Local bands to the area. Maybe some that you SOCAL guys will know.
Not worth a bunch but sure are cool!!
