Not an issue Zoot, we all understand...Want to say sorry for bringing a downer vib to the Friday night thread.
I've probably stirred up unfortunate emotions for some which was certainly not my intent.
Not exactly a great topic for an audio/tunes forum.
speeds normal for me nowWas just thinking that myself...![]()
Got to love the genuine, imitation wood paneling…
It’s no problem at all, Zoot. It just reinforces the fact that we are all friends here.Want to say sorry for bringing a downer vib to the Friday night thread.

Oh shiit! may have a major snafu going on! The magnets and frames are much wider than the originals, and may not fit between the internal walls of the cabinets!!! Since the woofers are mounted from the front of the baffles, I'm hoping the extra outward spacing will allow the frames to to fit! It will be very close! If they don't fit it, will mean hogging out the internal sides of the speakers, which will be a nightmare because the cabinets are 1.25 inch HDF, with a melamine skin!! It'll be a nightmare as it's so hard... next fix would be a thicker baffle to space the woofer out further! I'm hoping the original baffles are thick enough to give clearance?? I never even contemplated this could happen...A few pics of the disassembly- the new 8" aluminum woofers have larger surrounds than the previous woofers, so some hogging out of the baffles may be required- here's a few pics... the top right woofers are the old woofers, bottom left the new ones... magnet size on the new woofers are much larger... the cabinet pic is looking in the face (baffle removed)... internal wire is 14 gauge silver plate...![]()
