What are your oldest speakers currently in use or owned by you?

I kept scrolling past this post, figured I should respond. Every pair of speakers I own were built around 1974.

I am curious: among your props were "a pair of speakers made in Dallas, TX." What were they? I ask as my old speakers were bought out of a guy's house in Dallas.

My Frazier Manhattans were built in 1959. They sound amazing for a two way system with an 8 inch woofer.

image.jpg Large cabinet original ADS L400s, mid 70s. My first real speakers, paired with a small Sherwood receiver and a Technics belt-drive turntable. I've blown both drivers in both speakers at least once through the years, but they're still here, going strong in my 2 channel system with a mint Pioneer SX-780, Technics SL-D3, Sony CDP-215, and a Nakamichi Cassette Deck 2.

How have they held up? I had a pair of those from the early 80's, think they were Series 1, but they succumbed to foam rot.

Currently using JBL L-26's, re-foamed and sounding great. I think they're from the mid 70's.

I have used these 301s in varying environments through out my younger life, and they have held up well.

Right now, they fill my garage with unsurpassed stereo whenever I choose to "show out" to the neighbors or "pretend" orchestrate a Classic overture.

But of course.. I do this with the garage door down.. : o

Also: The most I have pumped through them is 20-30 WRMS, although they are rated much higher. I just can't stand the output, its filling!

JBL L100's, KLH Five's, AR-2ax's. The newest are probably the JBL's at ~1975. The other two are pre-1970.

My oldest are drivers needing new homes, saved from being dumped.
Some 50/60's fender drivers, Also some old Jensen drivers. (Need to list for the guitar amp guys) My faves are Pioneer Pax 30b coaxials from 1964, 12" , 16 ohm, and are beautiful to look at for the chrome/design. Pure art!
The Pioneers were from a tube console on the side of the road that I spotted on a dog walk on trash day. I beat the trash truck and saved them.
I hate to see this beautiful work from the day get destroyed......
My oldest current speakers may be the KLH model 20's that need recap. (Also have some Electras from 71.. not great but ....)
My keepers tend to be from the 80's/ 90's.

Early AR 2ax's from the mid-60's(roughly 50 years old) and I love them. As much as I loved my AR 3's, the better efficiency of these gives me 95% of what I had with the 3's but the ability to use them with lower powered tube amps.

These have replaced in age(and preference) by my AR2's, which date to around '59/60.
