I am curious: among your props were "a pair of speakers made in Dallas, TX." What were they? I ask as my old speakers were bought out of a guy's house in Dallas.
Large cabinet original ADS L400s, mid 70s. My first real speakers, paired with a small Sherwood receiver and a Technics belt-drive turntable. I've blown both drivers in both speakers at least once through the years, but they're still here, going strong in my 2 channel system with a mint Pioneer SX-780, Technics SL-D3, Sony CDP-215, and a Nakamichi Cassette Deck 2.How have they held up? I had a pair of those from the early 80's, think they were Series 1, but they succumbed to foam rot.
Currently using JBL L-26's, re-foamed and sounding great. I think they're from the mid 70's.

Early AR 2ax's from the mid-60's(roughly 50 years old) and I love them. As much as I loved my AR 3's, the better efficiency of these gives me 95% of what I had with the 3's but the ability to use them with lower powered tube amps.
