Absolutely! I've heard comparisons between him and Hank, Sr. just besides the dying young part. So talented. One has to wonder how the course of country music would've been changed had he have lived, the same I've always pondered about Hank. Had Hank have lived, would rock and roll have been the explosive force it was that changed country music? Would Hank have dabbled in it? If Keith would have lived, would Garth Brooks (who I thoroughly enjoy) have been the powerhouse he was? Would country music have kept to a more traditional place had Keith continued recording? Heck, you could even ask if the current "bro-country" nonsense would have occurred if he'd have lived.IMHO … Keith Whitley was like the Jim Croce of Country Music .. had a hell of a career ahead of him.
Passed from this world much too soon .. probably w/out realizing how good of a country singer he really was. .

When I die don't bury in a box in a cemetery. Out in the garden would be much better, and I could be pushing up homegrown tomatoes!Guy Clark's passing was big for me. I am a huge fan of his songwriting.
Richter's Brahms 2 with the Chicago symphony under Erich Leinsdorf is one of the best.Sviatoslav Richter and Vladimir Horowitz, legendary concert pianists.

Richter's Prokofiev is untouched.
When the Russian virtuoso concert pianiats began touring the US during a thaw in relations, one recieving praise here said "You should hear Richter!"Richter was a titan, indeed. I heard Horowitz live at Rutgers University in the spring of 1966. I regret never having heard Richter.
