What car do you wish you had BACK, again?

Mine was a 1970 Chevelle 2 door,396,4 speed muncie rock crusher tranny.

Back then they were a dime a dozen.

Opel Kadetts were very under rated. They were great cars compared to the other imports of the day. Way better than the VW bug.

Many of the posts here are very nostalgic. I understand why you would want them back but I think you will find that many of them would be very hard to live with on a daily basis.

The car that I wish I still had was a 1991 Infiniti G20. A blast to drive, great handling, comfortable, rock solid and fantastic gas mileage. I turned it in when the lease expired. I should have bought it.

2.3T motor, wolf in sheep's clothing. Had 271k on it and it still ran, drove and hauled like it did when it came off the showroom floor. Ended up wrecking it 12/02 in nasty weather. :tears:

I haven't found a decent '90 sedan since. A few '90 wagons are still running about.

Honda Accord Hatchback -- before they became oversized "personal luxury" cars, they looked more like the precursor to the Acura Integra/RSX. Had around 140K miles on it, IIRC, and wasn't even beginning to show signs of breaking down. Got totalled in an accident went some nutbag came out of an exit with no merge area in front of the nutbag in front of me, and she slammed on her brakes and came to a complete stop on a freeway. I was going to argue with the insurance guy, but then it got vandalized while at the shop. I still think the insurance adjustor was in on it.

Scirocco 16V, Renault Fuego, Merkur XR4Ti

That's a nice list. I had a Scirocco (loved it), was intimate with a Turbo Fuego, and tried to buy an XR4Ti (but all they had were autos, and they weren't taking orders).

I wish I'd never let my 1969 BMW 2002ti go.

And I wish I still had my 1958 Morris Minor convertible...

...and my 1982 VW Scirocco.

My 1980 Porsche 911SC Weissach limited edition. One beautiful car that was fun to drive the wheels off of it.

For me it would be tough... either my modified 68 Olds Tornado, or my 66 AMC Ambassador DPL.

If I had to pick only one, the Ambassador would edge out the Tornado by a small factor...

The Ambassador had the AMC 327, factory 4-speed with bucket seats, was a 2 door hardtop, with
factory posi.

It looked like a 66 Chevy II with a different front end. The Tornado was dream to drive, but the
Ambassador was fun to drive.

Also, I rarely ever saw another Ambassador which was cool in itself!

I miss my gold 1972 Volvo P-1800 and believe it or not, I wouldn't mind another 1965-66 turbocharged Corvair Corsa coupe.

Bmw 850

Mine's more recent: 1994 BMW 850Ci. Not popular, off the beaten path, high-tech, comfy while fairly fast. That car just fit me somehow... I still miss it, and even now I'd buy a '97 if I had the chance.

That is a great car - I have owned a few beemers and currently have a 740i that I love. almost bought a 96 850 last year but would have to either add on to the garage or sell something. I can't stand to leave such fine machines parked outside. The owner let me take it out on the highway and told me to "push it". By the time I actually looked down at the speedometer we were doing almost 140. Incredible. Here is a link to a nce 97 850 for sale...

I guess out of all of them I want my 65 Corvair with the crown kit in it. next would be my first 73 Grand Am.

8 Series BMW is something I've been in love with since the first one I ever saw...just too cool.

I would probably say that I'd want my first car back...1996 Ford Thunderbird with the 4.6 V8--it was a factory flip/flop paint job blue/purple in the sun, had a moonroof and was in great shape...But it ain't all bad, I now have a 95 with a V8, no moonroof though :( and lots and lots of bugs and issues seeing as how it's a 13 year old car now, vs. a 4 year old car when I had the old one...but I love it just the same...

I would probably also want my 2004 Competition Orange Ford Mustang back...too bad I couldn't afford to keep the damn thing...

As for the two ford focuses, the caprice, and the 89 mustang convertable I had for three days, those cars can all rot in a junkyard....especially the 89 mustang...wasted a grand on it...former 4 cyl basket case horrid conversion with a bent unibody, almost dead clutch, no top, no power steering, no power brakes, disconnected rear drums, worn out pads on the front and I drove it on the freeway  It's not all bad, the engine, trans & rear end where basically fine, they're going in a buddy's 70 maverick, in fact we just pulled the rear end a few days ago...gonna junk the car, although I'd like to give it a Hunter S. Thompson send-off via dynomite & gasoline...
