What Do You Like on Your Pizza?

Mood-dependent, but generally ...

xx sauce (I like it a little soupy), banana peppers, light cheese
Pan, regular, or crispy thin crust.
Pie cuts on pan and regular, square cut on crispy thin.

Cheese, sausage, fresh mushrooms. Pepperoni, and on occasion, black olives. No pineapple, period. Not a fan of "garbage can" pizza.

I like hamburg and anchovies and usually have the whole pizza to myself.

perogie pizza

yes, its really good.
its actually potato and sour cream with onion and jalapeno, bacon and cheese
my gf doesnt like it so its a treat for me
nothin like carbs stacked on carbs

Great thread.

So, here is a very good complimentary pairing of flavors. And my favorite.

Green olive, cheeze, extra tomato based sauce
and
a good old world Pilsner.
( Das Koenig, Urquel, ECT ... )

I've been lucky enough to coerce pizza shops in Mexico, Germany, England, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong and Taiwan to source olives from their salad bars to fulfill my dining desires.
China was a no go... ( and off my Christmas card list. )

The hops in the Pilsner and the tangy thump from the green olives and the sauce do compliment each other...

My better half?

BOM

beef, onion and mushroom..

That's a great combo as well.

Try it.. :)

Oof, I want to try so many places mentioned above. I’ve been to Caserta’s mentioned on the first page of this thread. The best pizza I ever had was from a guy who brought a portable brick oven to farmers markets, cheese, sauce, Italian sausage, and the best caramelized onions I have ever tasted.

My normal go to is pepperoni and peppers.

a thin crust, crunchy...Italian sausage with lots of fennel seed, oregano, mushrooms, lots of cheese, oily and juicy. the sauce has to be goood! the sauce makes the pizza.

My favorite homemade pizza, I often use homemade pesto, red onions, smoked salmon, clams, garlic, mozzarella, brie and anchovies. Wild mushrooms when I get them.

When it's a red sauce, I'll use sun-dried tomatoes, jamon (Spanish ham), fresh basil, mozzarella and other cheeses.

Mozz cheese
Italian sausage - HEAVY on this!
pepperoni
garlic- HEAVY on this also!
black olives
red pepper flakes
and to top it off, a sprinkling of peccorino romano, , , ,

NY style thin cheese slice pie with anchovies (and the oil they rode in on). Sprinkle with dried oregano and red pepper flakes when served. Toppings kill a NY pizza. It doesn't cook right.

Bobby Flays Pizza dough recipe ( I don't care that much for him, too much ego, but the recipe is great) Homemade sauce- tomato paste with a touch of sugar, Basil, oregano, garlic, some balsamic vinegar and Crushed red pepper. Fresh portabellos, red onion, peppers, pepperoni and ripe olive. Oh and fresh mozzarella as stuffed crust and on top along with shredded mozz. IMG_5097[1].JPG

I'm ok with most toppings but don't like olives or anchovies.
One of my favorites is the Beefeater, with Italian beef, hot giardiniera, and onions.

I can recall my Grandmother making some simple Pan Pizzas way back.

Homemade dough of course, open a can of Tomato Sauce, throw some slices of cheese, sprinkle a little seasonings, some grated Romano Cheese, and you were like "oh yeah".

Fairly minimalist, and I think that's one important key to a Pizza, don't overdo a good thing and go bat **** crazy with too much toppings. Looks impressive perhaps, but I know I'd likely say "WTF is this?! LOL

"A 7-course meal on top of a Tortilla!?" LOL Pizza is not Hurachas.
