Beautiful Infinity's Ken Boyd, "I am jealy" as my 13 old daughter would say. Lets see
1. The Pioneer CS-705's have that decadent 80's look to them but looks can be deceiving. IMO they are detailed with great bass. Probably more surprised at how these speakers sound than any I have owned. They can make U2 to Iron Maiden sound equally good.
2. Mach 2's use to be my go to rock speakers til I got the above Pioneers. They are now in storage.
3. Realistic Nova 6's. Whenever I want to listen to old country, some classical or Big Band they really impress. One of the shining gems of RS IMO.
4. Realistic Nova 7b's. Not as impressed with these as other AK'ers. I here more soundstage with the Nova 6's. I really miss the mids with these speakers. Great bass extension though for a bass reflex speaker.

Pair of small Automatic Radio speakers - How can something so small sound so big.
Those speakers connected to a Scott Lk-72 amplifier kept within the speaker's rated power limit do sound much bigger than they really are. Currently drive two pairs of them (other pair is 8 ohms) with a Lafayette LA-375 amp and these speakers sing.
Only mods were to replace the tweeters and use the correct value of crossover capacitor and to seal the cabinets.

In the RIGHT ROOM with GOOD GEAR and REFERENCE CABLES these LATEST Bose 901's can go toe to toe with some of the BEST speakers on the market !... :yes:

I really try not to do that!!! As my mom asked me when she came to visit, how many pair can I listen to at one time with a very disaproving tone as she looked around the living room????? But then she ask the same question about the 4 cats I have to so its all good!!!!:thmbsp::thmbsp::thmbsp:

Two pair of late 60's fisher speakers after replacing the caps and resistors in the crossovers - never thought these would ever sound this good. Granted they are not the best, but they do sound much better than they did in my teens and the Radio Shack woofers used to replace the original woofers work very well.
There is just something about VRs. My Clearfield speakers are actually Von Schwiekerts from when he worked under the Counterpoint umbrella in the 90s.
If / when I run into some serious cash, I'm pretty sure I would buy some newer pair of VRs. As you said, Amazing is the word for VRs!

In the UK they won awards, but here in the States hardly anyone knows of them.
(Even here on AK I am unaware of anyone else who owns them)
They put a huge smile on my face every time I fire 'em up. 15 years and counting.

Tannoy System 800s, between 50 hz and 20 K just wow, a little hot on the high end in my room, but with a little digital EQ they sound remarkably lifelike. With a little M & K sub they have stopped my search for speakers. IMO I would need 6000 dollar Genelac active monitors to sound better. Dynamic, coherent, and lifelike come to mind.
Energy C-2s, nice and crisp, with surprising bass for a bookshelf, good soundstage, and very even sound, best 40 bucks I ever spent.

I hate to "think" about how many pairs of speakers I have right now that aren't getting used.
I'm trying to do something about this but new arrivals come almost monthly. Not really that often but... you know what I mean. No complaints, I always buy from established makers, usually buy only rubber surrounds (that solves a potentially messy problem when things get older), and never mishandle anything (proper loads, stable stands and surfaces, etc). I have 13 sets and they all sound somewhat different in some small way. Right now (and often) Klipsch Fortes and 4-15" JBL subs beg for attention around here, with a/d/s, Polk and Mission (not to mention the rest, I have no duds) begging for eartime. :yes:

Mach Ones...why am I getting distortion on Pink Floyds "IF" and not on any other songs? My voice coil rubbing on my right speaker?
Klipsch RB-5 Mk II wow is that the horn or is that distortion from the source recording lol. Boy these are loud
Timeframes TF-250...smooth smooth smooth where is the fatigue? oh is none lol
Advent/1s..these sound way better than NLAs for some reason
Advent/3s combination of golden mid range and Blatz beer lol and I mean Blatz
EPI M-50s...why are these in my closet?
Boston A-70s...everyone else likes these but I find them boring must switch amps...
Event 20/20 Monitors .....these are really awsome for what i paid!

My CS-77a's - I find my self thinking - "according to the reviews there is definitely no universal love for these, and they have a kabuki-like appearance. Why do they sound so smooth, have an amazing soundstage and image like mad in my living room? They have incredible build quality, look and sound amazing, and only cost me $10 in mint condition. Oh well - just enjoy them. "

I put a pair of early '60's 12" University Diffusicones and a pair of Magnavox late '50's horn tweeters in an unused pair of early '60's speaker cabinets. I lucked out big time. They are without a doubt the best sounding pair of speakers that i've ever had the pleasure of listening to.
Everyone who's heard me play them also agrees with me too. Even my friend who's strictly a JBL speaker guy from way back was very upset when he heard them. His response was " These speakers should not sound this good because they're not JBL" Go figure.

Diatone DS77HRX - "I love these speakers, I need another pair."
Victor ZeroFX3 - "Pretty good for a little known brand with a low price tag, great bass."
Yamaha NS1000M - Have not had them more than a day so my opinion could change but initially "These dont really sound better than my Diatones" but becoming "these make my crappy CD player sound...crappy."

Currently running Mirage M5 ( original version not the M5si series ). I power them with a Yamaha PC2002 which has plenty of juice to drive these babies.
Great sounding bipolar speakers. I'm still, however, trying to get the right placement.
Many suggest 1 M away from walls and toed in about 15 Deg.
Maybe one day I can snag a pair of their bigger brother the M3.

What I think about my speakers.I'm glad they sound the way they do.Also I've never seen another pair.Gary Gillum was one of Paul Klipsch's audio engineers .I am also glad they are bookshelf size but they put out a big speaker sound.I've had and sold better speakers ar3a's , klipsch heresy 2's , marantz hd880's, but always find myself going back to the Gillums.They also sound amazing with my tube gear.
