What FM antenna are you using!?

I just strung a 20 foot length of 450 ohm Ladder Line from my work bench through the room - temp attached to the ceiling - to the closest window. I left the reception end of ladder line at the window, still in it’s coiled circular shape. Good Enough / until I decide I really want to cut this 50 feet of Ladder Line and not put it to other use.
 
Another useful antenna for FM is a variation of the folded dipole. Actually, it's the other way around. The folded dipole is one of the variations of full wavelength loop style antennas. These can be in a variety of shapes..square, round, rectangular, etc...each one with slightly different characteristics. A square loop in diamond configuration..each side being about 30" of wire..and attached to a basic 4:1 balun..makes a useful antenna. You can tweak this for one end of the band or the other, and adjust for insulated or uninsulated wire, and few other factors. The actual length of wire is 10' and a few inches, but all 4:1 baluns have a stub of wire with spades on the 300 ohm side that can take care of the few inches. Use that 20ga clear insulated speaker wire and you can make this fairly stealthy for indoor use. Just need 3 push pins at the upper corners and you can hang it on a wall. The balun isn't totally neccessary, but provides a solid way to attach coax.
 
Gonna bring this one back from the dead! I'm using a couple crossed dipoles, the kind that usually get mounted outside & a 6- element rat shack yagi on a rotator, all in the upstairs attic. One crossed dipole, fed to an amp in the kitchen which has a couple HD tuners, a Boston acoustics HD radio & a big Philips rcvr fed by said amp.
The other feeds a Bose Acoustic Wave & Sony xdr-f1hd direct through a switch box upstairs.
The Sony tuner is the hands-down best damn tuner I've ever seen & used, so I've acquired 3 of them, 2 in use, 1 is a spare in the crappy half of the year weatherwise. The other half its out in the garage.
 
I'm using a CC Crane Reflect on a second system, primary being a Radio Shack crossed dipole in the attic. It pulls in Lansing and I'm just n. of Detroit.
Good enough for me.....
