What is your least favorite music genre?

I know this, I'll never feel shame for anything I do or don't like. Not that I've been shamed. But as these types of threads sometimes go...:dunno:
 
I don't like "Rap" music. "Opera" music I don't care for either, I really do like Classical music! Also don't care for that Rock music I used to listen to back in the day, some of it is still good, too old for that stuff now. :D Jazz, Soul, Pop, & Classical is the stuff I listen to, from the good ol' days. :music:
 
What is that music (I use the term very loosely here) that kids listen to in their cars that rattles their fenders loose and pisses off everyone else inside their homes in a 10 block radius? I call it head banger music for lack of a better term. I hate it! I f'n hate it! :rant: Makes me want to bash a lot more than their idiotic genre, and with an 8 pound sledge hammer... Nobody in my town seems to listen to this music but when I go elsewhere I run into it a lot.

Zero 7 has some great sounding albums, regardless of whether or not you're into that sort of thing. Nice, clean masters. Respectable thing about Sia is that she does not use any vocal processing in her recordings. That is 100% her voice you're hearing. Very much an outlier in present pop music.

Search "Sia KCRW" on YouTube, and there's a whole series of live studio cuts that really showcase her talent ... pure pleasure to watch her in action.

Actually the term hip-hop was created in response to a growing ambivalence towards pure rap as a sustainable genre. So then just about anything was called hip-hop as long as it had some ties to R&B. So think of hip-hop as a large R&B umbrella beneath which can be found some pretty creative and catchy music. As well as poor old rap which most people got tired of 60 seconds into the Aerosmith / Run DMC video.

I prefer to let the various genres stand on their own merits rather than stifle the discussion. I agree with you that R&B qualifies as music.
