What modern things do you hate/dislike?

Well that one is easy to dodge, the last car we bought, I wrote them a check. Oh and the finance guy tried to scare me into buying an extended warranty. After turning down his gracious offer, he proceeded to tell me the turbocharger cost x amount of dollars, and if it were to go bad…

This was 2017, and the extended warranty price was $3500!!! I could have bought the turbocharger for that amount. The car is nine years old, time past whatever the extended warranty was, before the AC compressor died.
Yes, and from the chorus, that is the only way to buy a car, cash.

People that don't understand that a gallon of gasoline isn't any more a burden now - than it was decades ago... Same goes for a gallon of milk. In other words: People that can't math.

QR codes - each and every one of them

You win the thread!!

Besides being a pain, QR codes are an absolutely massive security risk. All somebody needs to do is print stickers of their own QR code for a fraudulent website and apply it it over the venue's QR code. That will send everyone to the fraudulent website. If the fraudulent website is set up to mimic the correct website, you'll never know it. This doesn't seem to be leveraged that often as a hack yet, to be honest, but literally anybody could pull this off in minutes to redirect everyone to their fraudulent website. QR codes are a really bad idea -- you can't have any idea where they will send you by looking at the QR code, and nothing could be easier to hack by any idiot with a printer.

Modern car key replacement. The typical cost to replace a lost key on a modern car now ranges from $500 to $1000. It's a racket. The electronics in the key cost nothing, the "programming" by the dealer takes essentially zero time, the cost is exorbitant ... and it keeps going up. A 20-year-old Porsche replacement key used to be $500, now it's around $800+.

If you buy a new car, you can often opt for "key replacement insurance", so they can bleed your wallet on a recurring basis in case the one-time $490 to $990 profit per key isn't enough :(:(.

There oughta be a law limiting the what dealers can charge since it's obviously widespread gouging across every brand (that's not likely to happen these days though).

I doubt they are very adept at hiding their anger. They can’t help but show it.
You'd be surprised. One guy at work was this geeky, super shy gamer type. He hardly talked to anyone.

We got into big trouble because he was stalking this female intern. There would be presents left at her desk or by her car. Letters were left for her that grew increasingly creepy.

No one knew who the guy was. HR cameras caught him stalking her as she came and went from the parking lot. I guess over an hour's worth of video.

We found his posting ID and checked out some of the posts he put up. They were WAY over the top. I mean hatred and misogyny galore! We found these posts after he was fired.

I'm telling you, you just never know these days.

I would say he is a lot different than the average Ken or Karen on FB. Your stalker is probably on a sex offender registry by now.

One never knows. There have been several employees fired for stalking and/or sending unwanted obscene photos to women.

I would say, 90% of them, no one had any idea it was them. These guys are really clever at hiding in plain sight.

Well sure. They are doing something illegal, if only a misdemeanor offense. That does not look good on a resume. But Ken and Karen don’t care if they spout their vitriol on social media or the local news.

RomEngleză. That is the fact that a lot of people use English words in stad of Romanian ones, trough that the word/term exists in Romanian. And some use 'em in the wrong way.
