What speakers are these hanging from the ceiling?? (pictures)

Contact has been made. They're still up on the ceiling, and all 4 are the same as the one in the picture. Used to be a dance club, and has since been used as a rental for receptions and the like. He's getting out of that part of the business and keeping the kitchen to cater out of. Said the speakers are part of a complete old school DJ system including 8 JBL subs, the tweeter arrays, amps, equalizers, lights etc etc. Hasn't been used in a long time other than him having a buddy test it with his phone plugged in to an adapter cable. Said it was incredible, and could get incredibly loud, but DJ's that come for the weddings and such want to use their own setup with laptops, and he has to have them out by Nov 1, either sold or put in storage pods. Spoke of a package deal......

He's going to call me sometime in the next week once he's got some extra manpower to get them down with scaffolding and/or scissor lift. Told him I'm willing to help get them down....we shall see!

Might mean I have time to get a hitch put on and get the trailer that I'm work-trading for with a friend. *yesss*

Grab as much as you can afford and fit in your car, you friends cars. Maybe consider renting a van from UHaul. I think we're as excited as you are! Good luck and look forward to seeing what you end up getting. The ball is in your court since he needs it out of there asap!

Love stories like these. Good luck, hope it is meant to be for you.

More pictures too if it all goes down.

Doesn't U-Haul rent vans for $20 a day?
Sure they do.

Don't forget to add the 59 cents per mile, plus fuel.

OP is 5.5 hours away. Let's conservatively say a 500 mile round trip @ $.59/mile, that's $295.00 + $19.95 + fuel.

Don't be misled by the 19.95/day price. That's the price for calling it yours for the day. Actually driving it somewhere will cost you substantially more.

If you go this route, i strongly advise re-packing the wheel bearings(i use bearing buddies on my trailers), and to carry at least 1 good spare wheel and tire.

Trust me, this is neither the cargo or distance to leave at the fate of a maiden voyage with a used trailer.

I thought you had so many free miles. Maybe that's for trailer rental.

Nothing is free at U-haul.

You'll even pay rent on moving blankets(bring your own), an additional fee if they're returned dirty, and yet another additional fee if the interior or exterior of the truck is returned dirty.

And consider getting insurance. I rented a trailer from Florida to NY. I turn it in at NY dealer and he said something was missing ( don't remember what it was). I told him what he sees is what the FL dealer gave me. Luckily I had the insurance to cover me. I wasn't happy with the FL dealer almost screwing me over.

Gauss woofers, white painted frames, clearly shown in the OP's picture.

Likely 4583's before they went to the narrow foam roll a la JBL 2035.

Beginning thinking they were JBL to now Gauss.
You are correct after short research.
Like spotting ADS speaker from a pawn shop door entrance to across the other side of the shop.
I play left handed guitar and when i step in the door of Guitar Center i can spot all the lefty's hanging on the wall from 40 feet a way.
You have a keen eye!!:naughty:

IF this is in a club with a kitchen make sure the cones aren't coated with kitchen grease, doesn't appear to be in the photos.
I'm just saying from experience in that environment kitchen oil can get all over the place up high.

Bring lots of cash and grab it as a package, getting it all out in one big deal will make the owner happy and mention that he won't have to worry about trying to sell off the rest.
If you finagle with cash in hand you may come up with a deal of the lifetime.
In short tell him i will take all the speakers if you throw in the rest of the components out the door.
Your doing him a favor by him doing you one.

Thank you all for the good wishes and supporting information!!

I'll get those bearings packed, grab a spare tire/wheel and throw my dolly in the car. (Great idea) Have plenty of straps if needed.

As soon as he calls I'll update here. Night all
