What to pair with bose 901's?

OP - you really should educate yourself about the role
of the correct Bose EQ. Connect it in the tape loop
as Bose directs. The EQ is part of the design of the speakers, not an accessory that Bose sold to make 901s sound better. If you're not using it, you're not listening to 901s ...

I've since hooked up the bose EQ to my pre amp in and out and left my original pioneer sg-9500 EQ hooked up to the adapter on my amp.
 
Yes does sound a lot better. I am gonna pair them with a pair of new la scala's I believe though. I'm prolly not listening to this system in the traditional sense as people on here are imagining. I didn't purchase a sx-1980 because I wanted to wake up the neighbors... I purchased a sx-1980 because I wanted to wake the next county.
 
Because I posted this here unknowingly. I didnt know how to move it so I started another one... now I don't know how to delete it.
 
Notice all the stuff around the walls in the room... I'm thinking this maybe part of my problem. Also idk if I accidentally said series v somewhere back in this thread but I actually have series IV.
 
Also I was wondering why when I test the ohm load on these bose why I'm getting zero ohms... I should be getting an 8 ohm reading, correct?
 
I did just confirm the sx-1980 is wired parallel internally. When I'm running A (bose 901's) and turn on B(nothing hooked up to it) it doesn't kill my sound. Is there any real way to test the ohms of my receiver.

Hey Rickster , if this helps, I found with the ceiling mounted way, if you point the front up slightly from level, the reflection from the rear can make its way to the rear wall, then to your listening area, looks like you are possibly trading the 1 front driver pointed down at you, for the 8 pointed into the ceiling corner, also they become more directional, and clean sounding this way. reserve power is where the magic happens, had a friend play the series IIIs with a 50 watt pioneer for 10 years, I had the series Vi with a tube pre boosting the sensitivity to match a qsc plx, 750 wpc 8ohms. Even turned down the speakers feel the reserve power for quick burst of transients, but a non directional 600 wpc , with no spikes in the directional highs, is different as it becomes a solid engulfing situation, either people have listened to them with the power they need or not. 2 different speakers.
 
Not sure what you're trying to accomplish here. The way you have the speakers setup would be ideal for amplifying mono sound in a pool hall but not stereo listening. Personally, I'd define my listening location and then set the speakers up in such a way that you can have clear left and right locations for the speakers and be equidistant from them.

In a room such as yours, I'd locate both speakers on one of the short walls for the best compromise between listening and whole room sound. As for your measurements with your meter, that means very little. You cannot measure the impedance of a speaker with a meter, only its DC resistance.
