The current model Sapphire comes in 120 or 240V. No idea if the older ones did but it may be possible to convert one.. Contact SOTA and ask ‘em. I have seen some for sale in Australia, so guessing it shouldn’t be too hard to find one for your voltage. The Sapphire is a great table but if you look around you can probably find one of the vacuum platter models in your price range. The Star and Nova models I’ve seen, are usually vacuum platter (if that matters to you).

The TD 124, 224, and 121 and 11 were all freight trains. If you want vintage you want an Empire. Throw away the Empire Arm and find an SME. If the SME is good enough for a Thorens it is just as good for an Empire 598 or 698. If you can afford the updates for the Linn and have the time go for it. Funny how VPI isn't mentioned. TD 125 and 126 are just dependable very good TT. Here again with an SME arm. Thorens and Ortofon arms never showed me much and we sold them. Same thing goes for Grado wooden arms that warped or twisted.

Wow twiiii, have you ever listened to a refurbished (correctly) TD-124? With modern materials used in the rebuild and sitting in a heavy plinth they are silent. Your experience 30 or 40 years ago with one sitting on an open box style plinth is irreverent. Properly serviced they are awesome. Same goes with many other of the high end idlers.
I helped a friend rebuild one and we listened to it on a high end system with speakers that go very low, it was fabulous. No audio rumble or noise what so ever.

Old thread but I ended up getting a SR-929 a year ago. I also had a chance to get a Sondek LP12 in standard form but it felt cheap. The SR-929 is built like a battleship designed by Micro Seki and is Sansuis top table they ever made.

The SR-929 makes sense seeing you were pleased with the SR-838s performance going one step higher to the top.
