Those are bog standard TW of the greatest production numbers, the most excellent of all the TW models associated with the TW1 the 1 added when the speaker you have was updated to the TW1a, yours doesn't use the 1. It is just the Time Window, a speaker I have owned since buying new and they are not going anywhere. Sure better speakers may push em aside at times but these are keepers for all they do right. Give em a 9" boost (stand) and set em up, they image like crazy. Handle power without blowing up and sound great. There were a few different upgrades from the first TW to the one you have and yours was made from serial number a couple thousand I guess to close to 50000. Pretty good stuff those speakers.

I've been on the hunt for these for years. I only pay $40 for these and they are one the best speakers I've ever heard. The foam was gone so I repainted the tubes. Looking for a temporary covering option I bought two womans semless tube tops. They fit perfectly over the speakers.
If I can find something similar to this in a longer length I may use it over the replacement foam.

You were looking for and found the right speakers. So great for the money.
There are places to buy foam, 50 bucks gets you some from McMasterCarr but folks say it is a dark grey. Since it is air filter material, finding a source of a roll of that material is also an alternative.

Thanks for the tip. I ordered the foam. One last problem. It seems one of the tweeters stopped working. If I'm patient and try to find an original replacement on Ebay what would I be looking for? Since these are the original TW's what should I be looking for? Also is it as simple as switching out the + and - leads? I've read about the black goo and how difficult they may be to get out. I suppose I'll start with taking it out to test it. They still sound wonderful even with the one tweeter not operating.

Philips AD 0140 T8 is the tweeter to use.

I have a line on a pair of DCM QED's for $75. They are said to be the little brother to the Time Windows. Do they use the same 6 1/2 inch woofer and dome tweeter as the Time Windows. From the photos the tweeters are identical to mine and if the woofers match I'll have replacement speakers for those as well.

google shows the same tweeter. spect the same woofer but don't know for sure.

Terrific speakers! I’ve got a very early pair, octagonal woofers, I found at a yard sale, also paid 40 bucks, and they sound great. I did need to replace one woofer that developed a VC buzz, but found a correct replacement. Cross overs are untouched. I also used air filter foam to replace the long gone foam socks. I got rid of the wood tack strips. I used Velcro, two male strips from top to bottom on the back sides and the foam sticks to it perfectly, yet easily removed if necessary.
Hi, they do indeed user the same woofer, I own 2 pairs of QED's and had one pair rebuilt including the Crossover. They sound great..
