What would happen if audiophiles took over the world?

I had a very strange dream last night, related to audiophiles taking over the world. I don’t remember much, since it was a dream afterall, but I do remember that the world economy collapsed because we spent all the entire treasury on hifi. What do you guys think would happen

I’m inclined to agree with that. The outcome is either destroying the work economy or 8 billion people achieving audio nirvana

Maybe all of the audiophiles will unite to build the largest speaker on earth, but it’s so big, loud, and amazing sounding that it destroys the world, kinda like in the second hitchhikers guide to the galaxy book

Who say's that isn't already the reality?

I agree...I think it has overall.

Sound in the format of music is played:

24/7 in malls
in operating theatres
background music in movies
to inspire soldiers
to sell products
soothe people in hospitals
pacify pets when left alone
settle down babies
teach students to read
at parties
dance gatherings
cultural meets
sports arenas
concerts
funerals
music stores
TV series for effects
weddings/birthdays
elevators/airlines
offices
at work... the list goes on; infinitum.

The quality may not be there....but sound is; depending on the definition/degree of "audiophile".

That's the thing. Anyone who hears can hear music, its something different to Experience it. If audiophiles took over the world, our goal (if it can be called that) isn't to hear music, its to experience it. That is what everyone should be able to do

Well expressed...in poetic-fashion!

Call it living the lyrics, rather than just listening to them.
