What would happen if audiophiles took over the world?

So this may be a bit off topic but I need your guy’s help here. I am planning to bid on a Sanyo Stereo & Record Player DXT-5211 for 10 bucks, but I put in the shipping and in total it will be about 40 bucks in total (30 dollars of shipping) plus tax. It looks like it’s in good condition, but I am unsure about what to do, so I was wondering if I could get y’all’s input
I would pass with the shipping involved. As @malden suggests in post #79, don't be one of those. Save your pennies for something better.

There would be no ice cream anymore, because all the fridges would be claimed for freezing loudspeaker cables and golden fuses.

I predict with a degree of certainty that, "Radio Shack/Circuit City", or some fact similia would be back up and running again. ;)

Rat shack can come back, I'd be a happy man- if they'll stock pieces/ parts for us fixers of things! Having to navigate parts sources' nightmare websites & pay shipping & the related hassles ain't fun.

I completely agree with you. Online shopping is only fun when it’s convenient, and even then, it’s not that great

As an outside-the-box thought, maybe TV might be outlawed if the "Audies" were in power.

I see a movie coming out of the above...just gotta raise the funds. :bigok:

At least a book!

Vintage gear prices would major league SUCK!
Don't they already? Even defunct, beat-up shiite is $$$. Miss the era that netted me usable gear for damn near free. Never again-at least until those of us, mostly boomers, are gone & the younger ones don't give a shiite about our old "junk" that must often be fiddled with to keep it going.

All of us who love classical music would have to pack up and move some where far away from everyone else playing rock and roll at 120 db. I Wonder if we could all fit in Australia after the rock and rollers left.
