What's the best looking DIGITAL receiver of all time?

This Panasonic SA-XR55 receiver uses the Texas Instrument Equibit and is described as a DAC with enough power to drive speakers.

I bought mine when they were introduced around 10 years ago and it's still going strong.

Digital AV receivers never caught on as they were so lightweight compared to traditional receivers folks didn't take them seriously but they should have.

I also have a JVC digital powered receiver.

Got a couple of Denons older a/v's with good reception for my area. Dipole 120ohm or 75ohm vertically mounted with 75 ohm cable outdoors to indoors in nc I can lock onto 144 fm channels. (well depending on the atmospheric conditions.) Indoors about 138 channels with a vertical dipole.

a vertical mounted ant. can be purchased but for outdoors? a piece of plastic pipe and a mount and push the antenna into the pipe and string with end caps to the antenna.
 
I like the traditional look and I like the controls on the unit to do everything a remote will do in case the remoteDSCN3895-515x341.jpg fails.

Actually, its the Pioneer that caught my eye and brought back a flood of memories circa '71 when I was 14. My best friend's Dad had one of those driving some private label speakers using a Dual 1019. At the time, that was pretty darn cool!
 
I will take a more unconventional choice. For me, it is something understated. I nominate the Sony GX800ES. I have always loved the way that they look. Furthermore, as an owner of one, I think that they also sound very well. sony gx800es.jpg

I "like" the Outlaw posted by WaynerN in post #18, but, (like BillWojo in post #39) my vote is for "the Carver Receiver". Only partly because it was my first "hi-fi" component, I just like the "look" of it.
