What's the most coherent sounding 2-way speakers you've ever heard ?

I wanted the Arden's, but they were out of stock, and wouldn't be available till the new facility opened. So I went with the Cheviot's. The most amazing speaker to ever cross my threshold. :rflmao:
 
I still get amazed by how coherent my Legacy Studio HD's are 'and' how matched the pair is. They have an 8" woofer and a ribbon tweeter.
 
I’d say JBL M2’s are about the best I have heard in a two way. Detailed and dynamic with pinpoint imaging.

After that the Altec Model 19 or a Valencia (846b) using reworked crossovers are also pretty good. I never got the pleasure of hearing the 604.

Totally agree with your choices. Each is an icon in it's own right.

If you really wanna have fun stack them and run them. Each fills in for the deficiency of the other. The EPI inverted dome tweeter adds high end sparkle the
Dynaco somewhat lacks. The Dynaco fills in midrange the EPI somewhat lacks.
 
The definitive answer would entail being thoroughly familiar with every iteration of two way loudspeaker. I can't give the definitive answer.

I have an almost identical setup. Instead of the A25, I have a Dynaco A35 paired with a set of EPI 100.
 
Troels SEAS TJL2w with the Fountek ribbon tweeter. He no longer shows the write up of this on his website but I still feel that this is one of the most coherent 2 ways I have heard…and still have.
